Second half blitz from league leaders sinks Yellows.
Four goals in the last 10 minutes condemned Bedfont and Feltham to another defeat after playing out the last half hour with 10 men.
After holding their own in the first half against runaway league leaders Hartley Wintney, The Yellows collapsed in the second half to lose by seven goals to two playing the last half hour with ten men after losing centre half Melchi Emannuel-Williamson to a red card on 58 minutes.
The visitors came to The Orchard to gain revenge for the defeat at home by The Yellows early in the season one of only two defeats that Hartley Wintney have had so far this season.
The home side started brightly and were equal to anything that the visitors had to offer until the 8th minute when Hartley Wintney opened the scoring through Luke Perkins.0-1.
On this occasion the home side did not buckle and 3 minutes later Jason Pinnock forced home after a goal mouth scramble.1-1.
The Yellows were playing with lots of confidence and shocked the visitors when they were awarded a penalty on 31 minutes with Craig Tomkins firing home from the spot to take the lead.2-1.
It was looking good but the smiles only lasted for 13 minutes when on the stroke of half time Sam Argent scored to take the game back to all square.2-2.
It was a good first half by the home side with some really good football being played and the home supporters were optimistic that The Yellows could get something out of the game. This all changed in the 58th minute when centre-half Melchi Emmanuel-Williamson was adjudged to have brought down a Hartley player and was given a straight red.
The resulting free-kick came to nothing but the home side were now down to 10 men and had to hastily re-organised the defensive formation.
The home sides reorganization did not work out and on 61 minutes the visitors Sam Argent fired home to give the visitors the lead.2-3.
The Yellows were still in the game at this stage, that is right up to the 79th minute when the visitors substitute Ross Cook started a goal rush with strikes on 79 and 81 minutes and two more from Sam Argent on 89 and 90 minutes. A complete collapse of the defence which should not have happened.
The home side conceded 4 goals in 10 minutes which was completely inexcusable and manager Aaron Morgan has his work cut out to stiffen up the defence and increase confidence before the away game against Windsor FC next Saturday. If The Yellows want to avoid relegation they can't afford for heads to go down as they did on Saturday.
Final score 2-7.
As a club we would like to wish Hartley Wintney all the best for the rest of the season and hope that they can succeed in their quest for promotion to the next level.
For The Yellows we need to regroup and back the manager and staff to escape relegation and avoid these collapses.
