Yellows fight back to take 3 points
Bedfont & Feltham come back to take win after being 2-1 down at half time to gain revenge against lively Colliers Wood after early season loss.
The Yellows were looking to reverse the result after Colliers Wood beat them 3-0 back in October.
Both teams started out with a very high tempo and with The Orchard being buffeted by a strong wind it made for an interesting start with the visitors perhaps having the best of the early exchanges.
The deadlock was broken in the 12th minute when Shakeel Morris seized onto a through ball from Aaron Morgan and fired in a left foot shot which Wood's keeper Peris Dawkins could only parry and Leonardo Pedro following up slammed in the loose ball to put The Yellows one up. 1-0.
The lead only lasted three minutes when the visitors took advantage of a defensive slip up and Sanchez Benali equalised giving home keeper Ravan Constable no chance. 1-1.
The visitors who had also been on a bad run of results recently took the lead two minutes later when Moses Kaddu took advantage of slack defending to fire home for Colliers Wood to take the lead.1-2.
The home side were struggling to contain the visitors lively forwards and just when they had seemed to weather the storm they conceded a penalty in the 26th minute.
Sanchez Benali stepped up to take the penalty but home keeper Ravan Constable dived to his left to make a great save in what proved to be the turning point in the game. The game was evenly balanced and there were several more chances for both sides before the interval.
Half Time 1-2.
Player manager Aaron Morgan made a formation change at half time with Charles Kuehn replacing Nathan Balanta.
The home side started off the second half with a far better balance and on 47 minutes Shakeel Morris seized on a rare mistake by the visitors to round keeper Dawkins to fire home the equaliser.2-2.
The home side were now in the ascendency and on 79 minutes Shakeel Morris brilliantly turned a defender to fire home to give The Yellows the lead. 3-2.
Although Colliers Wood came back at them The Yellows hung on for an important win with their thanks going to Ravan Constable for that important penalty save.
There are some big games coming up for The Yellows and if they show the same determination that they did in this game it will stand them in good stead.
Final Score 3-2.
Our best wishes to all at Colliers Wood for the rest of the season.
