Yo Yo season continues for Yellows.
After a good midweek win over Staines Town in the Southern Combination Cup they were beaten 4-0 by a hard working Farnham Town at The Orchard on Saturday.
After their good win in the week supporters were optimistic that The Yellows had turned the corner and would get back to winning ways in the league. However this was not to be.
Despite a bright start by the home side they went behind when the visitor's Jon Lancashire netted on 11 minutes.0-1
The home side were playing lovely football but without the cutting edge to trouble away keeper Richard Ossai.
Farnham were working very hard off the ball and were stifling the home sides forwards denying them space in the last third and their direct play was causing The Yellows defence problems and it was no surprise when Farnham went further ahead on 38 minutes through an unfortunate own goal.0-2.
The Yellows were still dominating possession but without really causing the visitors keeper any problems. Hoping to get to half-time with just the 2 goal deficit their hopes were dashed when on the stroke of half-time winger Elliot Cardona scored to put the visitors three up.
After the break the home side were still dominating possession but unfortunately possession does not win games and the visitors went further ahead on 63 minutes when Elliot Cardona added his 2nd goal of the game. 0-4.
Despite increasing the pressure to get at least a goal back the home side could not hit the target and the game petered out without any further scoring.
Farnham thoroughly deserved their win with a hard working performance, a good defensive lock out and good finishing up front.
The Yellows never gave up trying to play their quick fire passing game but that alone does not win matches and defensively they were trying to play out from the back when on occasion they needed to put their boot through it, three of the four goals conceded were caused by defensive errors.
Despite the defeat there were some good performances from Frank Vincent, George Crack and Nathan Balanta.
Next Match v Knaphill on Saturday 4th March away from home KO 3pm.
