Bedfont & Feltham 4-2 Horley Town
Yellows take 3 points at The Orchard.
Goals from Leonardo Pedro, Shakeel Morris (2) & Troy Raymond help 'The Yellows' to a much needed 3 points in a much improved team performance against 6th placed Horley Town.
The Yellows exacted sweet revenge for their last minute defeat at Horley several weeks ago when after recovering from 2-0 down they were beaten 3-2.
Desperately needing a win The Yellows got off to a great start when Leonardo Pedro made a great run down the right to open the scoring in the first minute which visiting keeper George Hyde could only parry over the goal line.1-0.
However the lead did not last long when a home defensive mistake let in the visitors winger Richard Wetton to equalise on 8 minutes.1-1.
The game was end to end with chances for both sides to take the lead but both keepers made great saves to keep the scores level at half time. 1-1.
The second half recommenced at the same frantic pace with the conditions not helping the passing of both teams but on 50 minutes a great through ball from Aaron Morgan found Shakeel Morris beating the offside trap to round defender and keeper to slot home to give the lead back to the homeside.2-1.
The game was still end to end and The Yellows lead only lasted 7 minutes before a great run down the right by Horley's winger ended with a cross into the area where Kyle Hough slotted home.2-2.
The good thing was that the heads did not go down as they would in the past and a series of substitutions followed with George Crack coming on for Nathan Balanta on 59 minutes,Troy Raymond for Craig Tomkins on 75 minutes and Darren Putman for Ashley Quashie on 76 minutes.
With the homeside in the ascendency they started to create some more chances for themselves but it was home keeper Keval Patel who made a tremendous close range save who kept the visitors level.
With time running out another good run by Shakeel Morris was this time rewarded when he managed to keep his feet and slam into the visitors net to take the lead in the 89th minute.3-2.
The game was still on a knife edge and with the final whistle still sometime away due to second half injuries the home supporters were willing on the home side to hold out.
To great relief sub Troy Raymond rapped the game up on 90+8 when he fired home to confirm the win.4-2.
For the home side a good win against 6th place Horley proves that they can hold their own against one of the better sides in the league. With some difficult games coming up The Yellows have to apply the same effort and mental forcefulness that they showed in this game to keep their chances of staying up alive. A great team effort!
To the Horley side we hope you enjoy good fortune for the rest of the season and hope we are in a position to see you next season!
